SAN FRANCISCO — Union Square is turning into an outdoor dance floor Sunday, Sept. 20, when Poolside brings Daytime Disco to downtown San Francisco.
The free concert runs from 1 to 5 p.m. at Union Square. Another Planet lists the event as all ages and is accepting RSVPs for complimentary admission.
Is the Poolside Union Square concert free?
Yes. Another Planet Entertainment lists the show as free, and San Francisco Recreation and Parks separately identifies Daytime Disco as part of the city’s free concert series.
Do you need to RSVP?
The official promoter page asks attendees to RSVP for free tickets. Because free outdoor events can still use reservations for crowd planning and entry communication, it is sensible to complete the RSVP rather than assume it serves no purpose.
Who else is performing?
The official material says Poolside will be joined by additional electronic guests, but those guests were not named in the primary listings checked by SF News Today. We are not filling that gap with unofficial lineup claims.
How do you get to Union Square?
Powell Street BART is the most direct BART stop for Union Square. Muni routes serving the surrounding downtown area include the F Market streetcar, 30 Stockton, 38 Geary and 45 Union/Stockton, along with Muni Metro and the Powell cable car lines.
Several downtown garages are nearby, including Union Square, Ellis-O’Farrell and Sutter-Stockton, but transit avoids searching for curb space during a free downtown concert.

Sept. 20 is a particularly busy free-event day. Comedy Day runs in Golden Gate Park the same afternoon, while the free Chuseok Korean Festival is at the Ferry Building from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
