SAN FRANCISCO — Comedy Day returns to Golden Gate Park on Sunday, Sept. 20, but one of the most obvious questions about the 2026 festival still lacks a clear current-year answer: who is performing?

The organizer’s homepage currently labels its performer schedule “LAST YEAR’S LINE-UP.” The event itself is listed for Sept. 20 at Robin Williams Meadow, and SF News Today will update this page when a confirmed 2026 lineup is posted.

What time is Comedy Day 2026?

Comedy Day is scheduled for noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20 at Robin Williams Meadow in Golden Gate Park. Admission is free.

San Francisco Recreation and Parks includes Comedy Day on its 2026 tentative special-events calendar. The organizer says the festival has been free since 1981 and has drawn as many as 60,000 people in a day over its history.

How do you get to Comedy Day?

Comedy Day’s official FAQ recommends public transportation and points visitors toward nearby Muni service, including the 5 Fulton, 7 Haight/Noriega, 33 Ashbury/18th and other routes around the eastern end of Golden Gate Park.

Transit is especially attractive this year because the Haight-Ashbury Street Fair is happening next door the same day, closing Haight Street between Stanyan and Masonic for much of Sunday.

What about parking?

The organizer lists paid parking options including St. Mary’s Hospital and UCSF, but the overlapping street fair is likely to make the eastern end of the park unusually busy. If you can take Muni, that is the lower-risk plan.

When will the Comedy Day 2026 lineup be posted?

The organizer directs people to its performer material, but the main site was still presenting last year’s lineup when this article was published. We will not substitute an unverified list from scattered listings. This page will be updated when the 2026 lineup is clearly confirmed.

How we reported thisSF News Today checked Comedy Day’s official site and FAQ and San Francisco Recreation and Parks’ 2026 event calendar. We are treating the lineup as unconfirmed because the organizer’s current homepage explicitly labels the displayed schedule as last year’s.
