SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco Shakespeare Festival has two final waterfront performances of Antony and Cleopatra this weekend, with shows at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Sue Bierman Park.
The performances are free, general admission and first come, first served. The festival says no ticket or reservation is required. Sunday, Sept. 27, is the final scheduled stop of the 2026 Free Shakespeare tour.
What time is Free Shakespeare at Sue Bierman Park?
Both weekend performances begin at 2 p.m. The production runs about 90 minutes without an intermission, so a 2 p.m. start should finish at roughly 3:30 p.m.
Where is Sue Bierman Park?
The performance area is in Sue Bierman Park near Washington and Drumm streets, across from the Ferry Building area. Embarcadero BART is about four blocks away, and the F Market streetcar serves the waterfront.
Do you need a ticket?
No. Admission is free and seating is first come, first served. The festival allows blankets and folding or lawn chairs. Taller chairs are generally placed farther back so they do not block sightlines.
What should you bring?
A blanket or low chair is the simplest setup. Visitors may bring their own food and nonalcoholic beverages. Waterfront conditions can change quickly, so an extra layer is useful even on a sunny afternoon.
What about parking?
The festival says a limited number of discounted $10 Embarcadero Center parking vouchers may be available first come, first served. Because the park is directly served by downtown transit, BART or Muni may be easier than hunting for waterfront parking close to showtime.
Can you take photos during the play?
The festival says photography and video of the performance are prohibited under actors' union rules. That restriction applies to the performance itself rather than ordinary photos of the park before or after the show.
