SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden Gate Half Marathon returns Sunday, Nov. 1 with an early-morning course from the northern waterfront through the Marina and Presidio and across the Golden Gate Bridge, bringing rolling closures and Muni reroutes well before most of the city is awake.
What time do the races start?
The half marathon starts at 6:50 a.m. and the 5K starts at 7:15 a.m. The official race schedule lists a finish festival from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Where does the half marathon go?
SFMTA says the half starts near Van Ness Avenue and Beach Street, then uses Bay Street, Laguna Street, Marina Boulevard, the Crissy Field and Presidio areas and the Golden Gate Bridge before returning toward the waterfront finish. Drivers should treat the Marina–Presidio corridor as the main impact zone Sunday morning.
Which Muni routes are affected?
Routes 19, 28, 30 and 49 are scheduled to reroute beginning at about 5 a.m. Riders should check SFMTA’s real-time service information before leaving because normal stops along the course can be unavailable during the race.
