SAN FRANCISCO — Fort Mason Center's waterfront night market returns Friday, Sept. 18 with five hours of food, shopping, art and music — and no admission charge.
The Fort Mason Night Market runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, 2 Marina Boulevard. Fort Mason says the monthly market is free and open to all ages.
What happens at the Fort Mason Night Market?
The market combines Bay Area craft vendors and food offerings with public art and live music around the historic waterfront campus. Fort Mason also points visitors to its resident restaurants and bars, including Greens, The Interval and Radhaus.
The Sept. 18 music lineup is still to be announced. Fort Mason says more music details are coming, so this guide does not invent a performer list from an earlier market date.

The event is scheduled for 5–10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18. Admission is free.
Which Muni lines go to Fort Mason?
Fort Mason lists the 28, 30, 30X, 43 and 49 as Muni lines serving the campus. The main entrance is off Marina Boulevard at Buchanan Street.
For a busy Friday-night market, transit removes the risk of reaching the campus only to find the parking lot full.
How much is parking at Fort Mason?
Fort Mason has paid on-site parking, but the center warns that the lot does fill up occasionally and that rates may increase on high-attendance dates.
The currently posted event-day rates are $6 for up to one hour, $12 for one to two hours, $18 for two to three hours, $24 for three to four hours and $30 for more than four hours. Parking fees apply from 7 a.m. to midnight.
Those rates are useful for planning, but a paid space is not guaranteed. If you are arriving near the busiest part of the evening, Muni is the more predictable option.
Is the Fort Mason Night Market free?
Yes. Fort Mason describes it as a free public event open to all ages. Food, drinks and merchandise are purchased separately.
