The Golden State Valkyries can win their first WNBA championship Thursday morning — much earlier than originally scheduled. Golden State leads the Atlanta Dream 3–2 after a 64–55 Game 5 win at Chase Center. Game 6 is at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 9:30 a.m. Pacific.
Why Game 6 starts at 9:30 a.m. in San Francisco
The WNBA moved Game 6 from its original 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET slot to 9:30 a.m. PT / 12:30 p.m. ET. The league said the change was made to accommodate the Atlanta Hawks’ home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers later Thursday at State Farm Arena.
The broadcast did not change: Game 6 remains on USA Network and streams on Peacock.
Thrive City watch party: doors, RSVP and admission
Chase Center is hosting the Valkyries Official Finals Watch Party at Thrive City for the away game. The event page lists 8:30 a.m. doors and a 9:30 a.m. game start, with the game shown on the plaza board.
Chase Center says space is limited and admission is first come, first served until capacity is reached. Eventbrite registration does not guarantee admission. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at Thrive City restaurants and bars.

What is at stake
Golden State moved within one victory of the title by winning Game 5, 64–55. Kiah Stokes scored 13 points with seven rebounds and three blocks, and the Valkyries now take a 3–2 series lead back to Atlanta.
If Golden State wins Thursday, the Finals are over. If Atlanta wins, the deciding Game 7 is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. PT at Chase Center.
Getting to Thrive City Thursday morning
Thrive City is at Chase Center in Mission Bay. For a weekday-morning watch party, the most straightforward public-transit options are the T Third, which stops at UCSF/Chase Center, plus the 22 Fillmore and 15 Bayview Hunters Point Express. SFMTA says those routes directly serve the Chase Center/Thrive City area.
Because this is a watch party rather than a normal game ticket at Chase Center, SF News Today is not assuming the usual “event ticket is your Muni fare” benefit applies. Plan on normal fare unless the event organizer or SFMTA says otherwise.

SF News Today will update this page if Chase Center changes the watch-party access details or if transit service changes Thursday morning.
