SAN FRANCISCO — The Warriors are opening a Chase Center practice to fans Sunday, Oct. 18 for $5, with a Steve Kerr question-and-answer session and team drills scheduled as part of the afternoon program.

The event has one practical wrinkle: Chase Center says the program starts at 2:30 p.m., while Ticketmaster currently lists the event at 3 p.m. For anyone attending, the venue’s own schedule is the safer one to follow because Chase Center also says doors open at 2 p.m.

What time is Warriors Open Practice?

Chase Center lists 2 p.m. doors and a 2:30 p.m. start on Sunday, Oct. 18. The venue says Warriors coach Steve Kerr is expected to join television play-by-play announcer Bob Fitzgerald for a Q&A at approximately 2:30 p.m., followed by player and coaching drills and other basketball activities.

Ticketmaster, however, displays 3 p.m. for the same event. SF News Today is not averaging those times or guessing which backend will change: readers should know that the current venue page says 2:30 and the current ticketing page says 3.

How much are Warriors Open Practice tickets?

Chase Center says tickets are $5, with net proceeds benefiting the Warriors Community Foundation. Ticket availability can change, so the official event page is the best place to check whether seats remain.

Ticketmaster currently says tickets for this event are non-transferable and applies a four-ticket limit. Those ticketing terms can change, so buyers should read the conditions shown during checkout.

What happens at the Open Practice?

The Warriors describe the event as a behind-the-scenes look at a team practice rather than a preseason game. The announced program begins with the Kerr–Fitzgerald Q&A, followed by basketball drills involving players and coaches.

Fans who take a Waymo ride to the event can show a ride receipt at Portal 10 for a chance at a VIP-section seat upgrade while supplies last, according to Chase Center.

How do you get to Chase Center on Muni?

The 78X 16th Street Arena Express runs for Chase Center events between 16th Street/Mission BART and the arena. SFMTA says pre-event service starts about 2½ hours before the event, while post-event buses operate after the event and continue for about an hour.

The T Third also serves the UCSF/Chase Center stop. Riders coming from downtown can transfer to the T in the Central Subway; people arriving on BART from the East Bay or Peninsula can also use the 78X connection at 16th Street/Mission.

What should you know about bags?

Chase Center prohibits most backpacks and caps ordinary bags at 14 by 6 by 14 inches. Bags are screened before entry, and oversize or prohibited bags may need to be checked outside the arena under the venue’s current policy.

Because this is a practice rather than a standard game, fans should recheck the Chase Center event page before leaving for any event-specific rules.
