SAN FRANCISCO — SF Music Day returns to the San Francisco War Memorial on Sunday, Oct. 25, with free admission, 95 artists across 20 ensembles and more than six hours of live music, according to organizer InterMusic SF.

The 19th annual festival runs from noon to 6 p.m. inside the Veterans Building at 401 Van Ness Ave., using the Herbst Theatre, Green Room and Taube Atrium Theater. InterMusic SF has also published a detailed 2026 festival schedule and printable program.

When and where is SF Music Day 2026?

Sunday, Oct. 25 from noon to 6 p.m. at the San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center, 401 Van Ness Ave. The performances are spread across three venues inside the Veterans Building: Herbst Theatre on the first floor, the Green Room on the second floor and the Taube Atrium Theater on the fourth floor.

The War Memorial’s own calendar lists SF Music Day in all three spaces on Oct. 25.

Is SF Music Day free?

Yes. InterMusic SF says free admission is returning for 2026. Its Eventbrite page is a free RSVP, and the organizer encourages registration so attendees can receive festival updates.

InterMusic SF also suggests a voluntary donation to support artist pay and keep the event free, but the donation is not an admission charge.

Who is playing SF Music Day?

The organizer says the 2026 festival includes 95 artists across 20 ensembles. The current lineup names performers including Bululú, the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, Rova Saxophone Quartet, Sundra Manning Organ Quartet, Cornelius Boots, The Sampaguitas, Dutt Campbell Duo, Quinteto Latino and Anne Sajdera Quintet.

InterMusic describes the program as spanning bluegrass, Filipina folk, soul jazz, classical and experimental music. The festival page also lists a noon–5 p.m. arts marketplace and an outdoor JazzMobile performance and jam-session component.

What is the SF Music Day schedule?

InterMusic SF has published the full 2026 schedule on its official festival page. The three stages do not all begin at the same minute: the published program starts at noon in Herbst Theatre, 12:15 p.m. in the Taube Atrium and 12:30 p.m. in the Green Room, with overlapping performances through the afternoon.

Because several sets happen at the same time, it is worth checking the organizer’s current schedule before you arrive and deciding which rooms matter most to you. The official page also provides a printable schedule and full program book.

How do you get to SF Music Day?

The Veterans Building is in Civic Center. The War Memorial says Civic Center/UN Plaza BART is nearby, and Muni Metro service is available at Van Ness. Those stations put the venue within a short walk for many visitors.

The War Memorial currently lists several nearby Muni bus routes on its visitor page. Because bus service can change around construction and special events, check live transit and service alerts before leaving rather than relying on a static route list.

Where can you park near the War Memorial?

The War Memorial lists the Performing Arts Garage at 360 Grove St. and the Civic Center Plaza Garage at 355 McAllister St. among nearby paid parking options.

Parking is not included with the free festival, and Civic Center can be busy on event days. Transit is likely to be simpler for many attendees.

What else is happening in San Francisco Oct. 25?

Two other free or partly free events already covered by SF News Today fall on the same Sunday. SFMOMA’s Free Family Day has family programming and K-pop activities, while World of Dumplings runs at the Ferry Building.

That makes Oct. 25 unusually easy to build into a transit-based day downtown: Civic Center for SF Music Day, SoMa for SFMOMA and the Embarcadero for the Ferry Building.
