SAN FRANCISCO — A 5:10 p.m. first pitch on Labor Day creates a slightly different Oracle Park trip from an ordinary Monday night game.
The Giants host the St. Louis Cardinals on Sept. 7, which means fans need to combine normal game-day transportation with holiday transit schedules. The good news is that Oracle Park is unusually well served by Muni and Caltrain, while BART riders have straightforward connections from downtown.
The less pleasant option is improvising a parking plan near the ballpark shortly before first pitch. The Giants say parking in their controlled lots and garages should be reserved in advance, including for fans using ADA placards.
What time is Giants vs. Cardinals on Labor Day?
Major League Baseball currently lists 5:10 p.m. PT on Monday, Sept. 7 for Giants–Cardinals at Oracle Park. The team’s promotions calendar labels the date as Labor Day.
Game times can change, so ticket holders should recheck the Giants’ current schedule before leaving, especially if weather or another operational issue develops.
What is the easiest Muni route to Oracle Park?
For many riders inside San Francisco, rail is the simplest answer.
The Giants’ transportation guide identifies the N Judah and game-day shuttles at 2nd & King, immediately beside the ballpark. The T Third/Central Subway stops at 4th & King, one block away. The 30 Stockton and 45 Union-Stockton are also listed among key Muni connections.

How do you get to Oracle Park from BART?
BART does not stop at the ballpark itself. The practical downtown choices are to ride to Embarcadero or Montgomery and then connect by Muni or walk.
The Giants specifically describe Muni as connecting Oracle Park to BART at Embarcadero and Powell, and their East Bay guidance also notes that some fans use Montgomery and walk down Second Street.
For the trip home, check BART’s trip planner rather than assuming a normal commute-period frequency. The game starts early enough that a regulation-length finish should leave considerably more room than a very late first pitch, but extra innings can change the calculation.
Is Caltrain close to Oracle Park?
Yes. Caltrain’s San Francisco terminal at 4th and King streets is a short walk from the stadium.
The Giants say Caltrain provides extra post-game service after weekend and weekday evening games. Because Labor Day is not an ordinary weekday, Peninsula and South Bay fans should confirm the Sept. 7 schedule and any post-game train before they board northbound.
Can North Bay fans take a ferry?
The Giants’ current North Bay transportation page says Golden Gate Ferry provides direct Larkspur-to-Oracle Park service for home games, departing Larkspur 90 minutes before first pitch and returning from the ballpark 30 minutes after the last out. Tickets must be booked in advance.
For a 5:10 p.m. first pitch, that can be an unusually convenient option for Marin fans who would otherwise drive through the city on a holiday afternoon.
Do you need to reserve Oracle Park parking?
If you are using a Giants-controlled lot or garage, plan on it.
The team’s parking guidance says fans should pre-purchase a SpotHero reservation. It also says ADA placards do not remove the reservation requirement for Giants-controlled facilities.
There are independent garages and lots around SoMa and Mission Bay, but availability and event pricing can change. An empty curb near the waterfront should not be treated as free game-day parking without checking signs and meter restrictions.
Will the Highway 101 Labor Day closure affect the game?
Caltrans’ planned northbound US-101 shutdown through Hospital Curve is scheduled to end at 6 a.m. Monday, more than 11 hours before first pitch.
