Game 3 statusFriday, Oct. 2 · Chase Center · series tied 1–1 · WNBA and Valkyries pages still list tip time TBD · WNBA currently lists ESPN2.

SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden State Valkyries are coming home for a deciding Game 3 against the Dallas Wings on Friday after Dallas extended the first-round playoff series with an overtime win Wednesday night.

The WNBA has confirmed Friday, Oct. 2 at Chase Center, but the league’s current game page still lists the tip time as TBD. It currently lists ESPN2 as the broadcast outlet.

There is one wrinkle: Chase Center’s event calendar is currently displaying 6 p.m. for the game, while both the WNBA game page and the Valkyries’ own playoff page still show TBD. Until the league or team updates its official schedule, SF News Today is treating the tip time as not yet league-confirmed.

Why is there a Game 3?

Golden State won Game 1, but Dallas evened the best-of-three series Wednesday with a 108–100 overtime victory.

That forced the series back to San Francisco for Friday’s deciding game. The date had previously appeared on schedules as an “if necessary” home date; it is now necessary.

What time is Valkyries vs. Wings Game 3?

The WNBA and Valkyries have not yet posted a confirmed tip time.

The league’s Game 3 page lists Friday, Oct. 2, Chase Center and ESPN2, but shows the time as TBD. The Valkyries’ playoff page likewise lists TBD. Chase Center’s own calendar currently shows 6 p.m., so fans should watch for the league and team listings to synchronize before making a time-sensitive trip.

SF News Today will update this same URL when the league posts the tip rather than publishing a second Game 3 story.

How do tickets work for Game 3?

The Valkyries’ playoff page directs fans to official playoff ticket options and verified resale inventory. Because this was an if-necessary date until Dallas won Game 2, availability and pricing may move quickly now that the game is confirmed.

Is Muni free with a Valkyries ticket?

Chase Center says Valkyries game tickets include complimentary event-day Muni.

The 78X provides express service between 16th Street Mission BART and Chase Center before and after games. The T Third/Central Subway also serves the arena directly.

Should you drive to Chase Center Friday?

Parking is available around Mission Bay, but transit has an unusual advantage because the event ticket doubles as a Muni pass.

Friday night also coincides with major I-280 construction. Caltrans now says both directions of I-280 between Mariposa Street and US-101 will be reduced to one lane beginning at 10 p.m. Friday.

Depending on the eventual tip time, that work could affect some drivers leaving Chase Center after the game.

Where will the official Game 3 time appear?

The WNBA game page and Valkyries playoff page are the primary schedule sources. As of publication, Friday and Chase Center are confirmed; the league and team still show tip time TBD.
