SAN FRANCISCO — Alemany Farm’s 21st annual Harvest Festival is free Saturday, with four hours of farm tours, music, food and hands-on family activities.
The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 700 Alemany Boulevard. Friends of Alemany Farm says donations are welcome but admission is free.
What is happening at the Harvest Festival?
The farm lists garlic planting, farm tours, face painting, pumpkin decorating, screen printing and other family activities. Live music is scheduled from Afterthought, The Knuckle Knockers, Steph and Fern, Ro and Zora.
Food is also planned, including a pig roast, farm salad, grilled items and barbecue. The farm says food service is expected around noon and 1 p.m., rather than continuously on a fixed restaurant-style schedule.
Is the Alemany Farm Harvest Festival free?
Yes. The organizer lists the festival as free, with donations gratefully accepted.
What should drivers know about parking?
The farm is unusually direct about this: onsite parking will be very limited. Drivers should expect to park in the surrounding area rather than count on a space at the farm.
The organizer encourages visitors to use public transit or arrive by bike.
How do you get to Alemany Farm by transit?
Alemany Farm says Glen Park is the closest BART station, about a 15-minute walk or five-minute bike ride from the farm.
From the Mission or downtown, the farm recommends the 14 or 49 bus southbound on Mission Street to Bosworth Street, then walking east via Murray Street and Saint Mary’s Recreation Center to the pedestrian entrance near Alemany Boulevard.
What is the address?
The festival is at Alemany Farm, 700 Alemany Boulevard, San Francisco. The farm is an open public space, so visitors should travel light and keep valuables with them.
